Salary – Benefits Information

Unity provides a CSI scale salary package that includes benefits in continuing education, health insurance (single, family), and a CSI pension program. Sick days, a personal day and financial support for continuing education, especially for advanced degrees from Christian colleges and universities, are included.

Candidates must be able to model a vibrant Christian faith, demonstrate teaching excellence, be able to develop a close relationship with students and their families, and be able to make Gospel values an integral part of school life.

We are also striving to create a rigorous "Christian worldview" perspective that provides the basis for our entire philosophy of education.  Applicants with a comprehensive Biblical "worldview" may be especially equipped for this position.

Unity is in a Growth Mode
Unity Christian School (K-12) grew by over 50 students since May 2007 through several open house opportunities and creative marketing. Since last May, by God’s grace, we have filled six positions for the 2007-2008 school year. Those in italics are new.
  • Full time high school English-Spanish position
  • Full time Special Education teacher to develop K-12 Academic Support Center, a new program and room addition in our secondary building
  • Morning second grade teacher to handle increasing primary grade enrollment
  • Elementary aid who will also serve as the elementary librarian and instructor of library skills
  • A secondary librarian certified in managing our new media and resource center, housing also 13 new computers and a SMARTboard
More on the Junior High Language Arts Opening

After 21 years of serving Unity Christian School as a teacher, most recently in junior high and also as Curriculum Coordinator, Cheryl Hoekstra left Unity to move with her husband to establish their new residence in California.  We will miss her many gifts and laughter, but pray for God's richest blessing on them as they make this life change.

As a result of this vacancy, Unity Christian School is accepting applications from B.A. or M.A. teachers for Junior High with Literature/L.A. emphasis. We prefer several years of successful experience in a Christian school for this position. Articulate, committed educators who enjoy junior high students and have a Christian world and life view should apply.
  • Vibrant, energetic personality who values and loves the adolescent stage of junior high and can demonstrate strong discipline as well as loving affirmation
  • Loves literature and its value to teaching life lessons from a biblical perspective
  • Strong language/literature background; understands and can articulate the writing process
  • Teaching creativity that provides varied learning situations that allows junior high students the opportunity to express themselves and gain understanding
  • Able to articulate and implement a reformed world and life view in teaching and mentoring of junior high students
  • Competent in moving students from the elementary, self-contained phase of education into high school and its demands
