Being Intentional

Let’s be honest: discipline doesn’t just magically appear. Most of us have had those moments where we think, “Tomorrow we’ll start that morning routine,” or “Next week we’ll be more consistent with screen time,” only to find ourselves back in the same chaotic patterns a few days later. In 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Paul talks about the “strict training” required to run a race. In our lives, this kind of training isn’t about being perfect; it’s about intentionality. It’s the daily, conscious decision to choose God’s way over the path of least resistance.
The beautiful thing we want to remember is that discipline is about creating structures that support our purpose, rather than letting the “urgent” chores and schedules crowd out what is truly “important.” When we lean into these healthy rhythms, the shift isn’t just in how much we get done—it’s in how we feel. As 2 Timothy 1:7 promises, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” There is a deep sense of peace that comes when we stop simply reacting to the loudest “scream” of the day and start intentionally stewarding our time according to God’s plan.
Let’s pray for the “power, love, and self-discipline” to create an environment where our purpose can truly flourish.
For HIS Glory,
