The atmosphere in the Unity gym was electric. The number of people in attendance was outstanding throughout both silent and live auctions. The donations by local businesses and individuals provided a platform for tremendous success. WOW...the 2008 auction had all the ingredients for making one of the most exciting fundraisers Unity has ever seen.
Last year’s 2007 auction set a record for the most money ever raised at a Unity auction - $40,000. The theme of the 2008 auction was “Rising to New Heights”, and, boy - did auction goers ever help us achieve that goal!
Vicki Mills, the chairperson for the auction was excited to report the estimated funds raised after all expenses is approximately $47,000.
The auction proceeds go to the overall operation of Unity Christian School. The auction is a collective effort of Unity families, faculty and staff, individuals and area businesses who donate items to be auctioned. The auctioneers donate their time, and scores of bidders supply the energy and enthusiasm that collectively encourages everyone to actively, energetically, and aggressively bid on hundreds of exciting items.
Unity Christian School sends a big “THANK YOU” to everyone who had a part in making the auction a huge success, further supporting K – 12th grade Christ-centered education in this area.
