Isaac and Jacob are two of three patriarchs whose names most
Christians will recognize. At Unity these names have an additional ring to them – Ike (Isaac) Klavenga who was largely responsible for helping bring scores of new students into Unity within recent years – nearly 150! When Ike gave $300,000 of his life’s earnings to Unity, many families received substantial tuition scholarships to Unity Christian School.
Enrollment surged from 126 to 216 in three years!
Jake (Jacob) Lyzenga and Jacob Hulst were two elderly men who also thought of Unity as they prepared to enter their eternal rest. (Jake Lyzenga had no children, strongly supported Christian education and passed into eternity at 104!)
These two, modern-day patriarchs need an Abraham to come alongside their love for Unity. Unity’s Foundation Board is now giving YOU the opportunity to become an Abraham to Unity Christian School, an ever-expanding operation whose footprints now touch nearly 200 more youngsters than 10 years ago through Unity’s three Preschool and Child Care Centers in Fulton, Clinton and now Morrison. With our present K-12 enrollment near 170, Unity teaches God’s Word to nearly 370 young lives this year.
The Unity Foundation was formed over 30 years ago with the goal of providing a financial base for the school that would bring a financial return to Unity Christian School for items outside of normal operations and the General budget. The Abraham Fund will be part of the Foundation, funded through regular giving of our supporters through automatic debit of a checking or savings account. The Foundation will provide a receipt for your tax deductible contribution and provide updates regarding the investment of these funds and how they are being used for Capital Projects or possible scholarship programs. The gifts invested in the Abraham Fund will not be used for day to day operation of the Unity School System.
